New Products! Gorgeous Mokosh Soaps

This week we’re excited to have in our hands a range of gorgeous new soaps from one of our favourite ranges, Mokosh.

You might remember us mentioning their divine Face Oils, or the cult Face Cleansing Powder - every product we stock from Mokosh is 100% natural, incredibly effective and beautifully packaged, as well as being fantastic value for money – and these soaps are no exception. They come in three varieties – fragrance-free olive oil, lemon myrtle, patchouli & cedarwood, and patchouli, rose geranium & mandarin – all delicately wrapped and naturally fragranced. (They smell amazing!).

These gorgeous little things are made from all natural olive oil, and for the fragranced varieties, coconut oil and cocoa & shea butters. They’re gentle, moisturising and nourishing, and are great for all skin types – but especially suited to sensitive skins that have trouble with harsh commercial soaps.

We’ll be adding these beautiful little soaps to the store within the next week – so keep an eye out for them!

… In the meantime, why not ‘like’ us on Facebook? You’ll be notified when any new products are added to the store, as well as being in the running for our regular competitions and special offers!

… Until next time! xx

Homemade skin care recipes

Sometimes, half the fun of using natural skin care is in the juicing, mashing and mixing!

So, we thought we’d provide you with some of our favourite natural skin care recipes – homemade skin care for those lazy holiday afternoons!

Homemade skin care is as fresh as it gets, and using raw ingredients means maximum nutrients, for a glowing, revitalised complexion.

Since we’re coming into summer here in Australia, we thought we’d start with a delicious tropical scrub for the face and body = our mango miracle mask!

Homemade Mango Miracle Mask

Ingredients:
1 ripe, organic mango
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsbp extra virgin olive oil
1 cup raw sugar

Method:
Mash up the mango, then add the honey and olive oil and mix until blended. Stir in the sugar.

Application:
Just before hopping in the shower, massage the mixture into dry skin, on the face, neck and any body areas that need some pampering!
Allow the mixture to remain on the skin for several minutes to sink in. (You can wash your hair while waiting – that’s what we do!)
Rinse off, and enjoy your glowing new summer skin!

The Bottled Version = Try our Little Alchemist Lime & Papaya Exfoliating Polish. This zesty scrub contains papaya & green tea extracts, as well as tangerine and lime essential oils, and shea butter to moisturise. It’s the perfecting smoothing, softening tropical scrub!

Next up, here’s a recipe for at-home brightening, without the nasty chemicals! Did you know that most whitening & brightening products contain ‘hydroquinone’, thought to be carcinogenic (cancer-causing)?
Get rid of pigmentation and uneven skin tone the natural way using homemade skin care – with our Luscious Lemon Brightening Mask.

Homemade Luscious Lemon Brightening Mask

Ingredients:
2 tbsp honey
4 tsp lemon juice
3 tsp organic natural yoghurt
1 egg white

Method:
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until the mixture thickens.

Application:
Apply to a clean, dry face and leave on for 10-12 minutes. Rinse clean. Use this mask twice a week and say hello to brighter, clearer skin! (You can refridgerate the mixture as long as you use each batch within 1 week of preparation.)

The Bottled Version = Try our gorgeous Little Alchemist Ultra-C Radiance Serum - this little beauty contains Vitamin A and rosehip oil to combat uneven pigmentation and age spots, as well as containing calendula and evening primrose oil to calm and balance. It’s heaven in a bottle!

So, now that we’ve got the masks & scrubs covered, what about a natural homemade cleanser? Well, that’s where our Oats So Smooth! cleansing paste comes in! This beautiful homemade skin care recipe is all you need for smooth, hydrated skin – and it’s so easy to make!

Homemade Oats So Smooth! Cleansing Paste

Ingredients:
1 tbsp natural organic yoghurt
1/4 cup oatmeal or cornmeal

Method:
Mix the ingredients to form a paste. Leave to sit for 1- minutes.

Application:
Smooth over the face, massaging into the skin as you rinse off. Then feel your baby soft skin!

The Bottled Version = try our Mokosh Face Cleansing Powder. Made with skin-loving ingredients like oatmeal, need powder, green clay and wheatgrass powder, it can be used as a daily cleanser and as a weekly mask – and it leaves the skin impossibly smooth!

And finally, a homemade skin care recipe for those tired or puffy peepers – our Creamy Cocoa Eye Concoction. This soothing cream is deeply hydrating and will smooth out fine lines, so you wake up with beautifully bright eyes!

Homemade Creamy Cocoa Eye Concoction

Ingredients:
1 tsp cocoa butter
1/2 tsp almond oil
1/2 tsp wheatgerm oil
pinch of finely chopped rosemary

Method:
Mix all the ingredients into a smooth paste.

Application:
Apply gently to the eye area using your ring finger (it applies the least pressure of all the fingers so is perfect for dabbing around the eye area.) Wake up to gorgeous, smoothed eyes!

The Bottled Version = Try our Healing Anthropology Rejuvenating Eye Repair. It works fast at combatting the three major eye issues – dark circles, puffiness and fine lines. That’s because it contains a host of effective natural ingredients – like licorice and white oak bark to calm inflammation, carrot root oil to brighten, and jojoba oil and shea butter to smooth and hydrate.

So there we go! We hope you enjoy our homemade skin care recipes – if you have any of your own to share, or have tried any of ours and want to share your experience, please leave a comment below – we’d love to hear from you!

In the meantime, why not peruse the rest of our gorgeous 100% natural skin care range.

Until next time.. xx

Product Review – Invoke Creamy Cleanser

Hi everybody!

Check out this gorgeous customer review of our Invoke Creamy Cleanser!
(We love it too!)

Hi all,

I’m really excited today because I’ve stumbled upon a brand new cleanser, which I’m loving already! I’ve been using Suki’s Sensitive Cleansing Bar for about a year now, but I decided a little while ago that I was going to shop around for an alternative because it was becoming expensive to keep using it – to get the product in Australia, I’ve been paying $26 a bar (including postage) – which isn’t expensive when you consider the quality and effectiveness of the product – it really is beautiful, and still one of my faves. But, I decided I needed something new, so I shopped around for a while and ended up purchasing one from Eve Organics – It’s the ‘Invoke Creamy Cleanser’. I’ve only purchased the small size to start out with, which set me back a very purse-friendly $10.95 – but I’ll definitely be buying the larger one later on – it’s impressed me already.

The first thing you’ll notice:the smell, and the consistency. The smell, because it’s absolutely divine. It’s creamy, but botanical – a really refreshing, reviving scent. It just smells like it’s filled with lovely, natural things – which it is, of course! You’ll notice the consistency because it’s different. Especially if you’re used to soaps or foaming cleansers – Invoke’s Creamy Cleanser is smooth, white and creamy – and it doesn’t lather at all, which might make you feel like it’s not quite ‘cleaning’ your face. Think Again.
This cleanser is fantastic. I have combination skin, and for the last week or so I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit slack with my cleansing routine and have even worn my makeup (mineral of course) to bed on occasion – so I’ve developed a number of little blemishes over the past few days. I used the cleanser yesterday morning, night, and this morning – and my spots have calmed down and, honestly, just about disappeared – already. Now that is cool. This cleanser is doing something seriously good to my skin! It feels clean, smooth, but moisturised – there are no surfactants or foaming agents in the Creamy Cleanser so it doesn’t strip the skin of its natural oils – it just leaves it smooth, bright and glowing.
Simply gorgeous.
Okay, so down to the nitty gritty.

What’s in it?
The ingredients list reads:

Purified water, sweet almond oil, vegetable emulsifier, vegetable glycerine, sunflower oil, citrus seed extract, essential oils of cold pressed lemon, lavender & may chang.

Can you get any simpler, or purer? I approve! There’s nothing in here i’m worried about – which makes me even more pleased to be using it.

Where to get it: Eve Organics – www.eveorganics.com.au .

The verdict: Great value, simple ingredients, gorgeous to use, gentle, & effective.
I’m sticking with this one!
