Our Picks for Christmas
Christmas is approaching fast, (yes! We love christmas!) so we thought we’d prepare a little helpful list – not for Santa, but for you!
This is a list of our picks for the festive season – what to buy, for who, and why.
We’ve put a lot of thought into this list – so sit back, save time, and get your christmas shopping in early – we’ve done the work for you!
After all… who doesn’t want beautiful & glowing skin for christmas?
Best product for teenagers = Raw Gaia Raw Chocolate Face Pack
Why? = This luxurious face mask clarifies and brightens all skin types – but it’s particularly good for oily, combination or acne-prone skin. It contains sundried red clay to draw out impurities, organic raw chocolate powder – the world’s highest known source of antioxidants, apart from smelling divine – tumeric, which is a known acne-fighter and excellent at purifying oily skin types, and amla fruit powder to clear and brighten the complexion.
This wonder-product not only has an amazing effect on troubled skin, it also smells heavenly and is fun and quick to use – perfect for teens!
Best pore-refining product = Mokosh Cleansing Powder, Healing Anthropology Purifying Facial Exfoliant
Why? = These little jars of powdered love are saviours for enlarged pores or unrefined, dull skin. They have the effect of applying a primer – they make pores disappear before your eyes. (Honestly!). They do this by getting in there and gently cleaning out those pores, whilst toning, refining and balancing the complexion, with ingredients like green clay, wheatgrass powder and the skin-loving oatmeal (Mokosh), calendula flower, rose petals and jojoba meal (Healing Anthropology).
As if that wasn’t enough, both of these beautiful products also double as weekly masks – so they’re real time- and money- savers, and perfect for mums or those who are short on spare time in their daily routine.
Most luxurious anti-aging moisturiser = The Little Alchemist Anti-Aging Defence Complex

Why? = This product is just too gorgeous. The packaging is sophisticated and feminine, and the product inside smells wonderful, is packed with natural anti-aging ingredients (DMAE, alpha-lipoic acid, MSM, seabuckthorn oil, hyaluronic acid, gingko, ginseng and Co-Enzyme Q10 – phew!) and sinks in to the skin beautifully. It’s a pleasure to use, and looks perfect on the bathroom shelf! Mum or Nan will love you for it.
Best gift for the traveller in your life = Invoke Rose Toning Mist
Why? = This product is a MUST for jet-setters. Not only does it tone and refine the skin, as all toners are made to, but it has the added benefit of soothing ingredients like cucumber and chamomile, which calm, de-puff and revitalise. No more red, irritated skin or puffy eyes when you touch down! This toning mist also contains floral waters of rose and neroli to add moisture (so it keeps your skin hydrated too), and lavender to balance. We road-tested this on a recent longhaul flight and it was absolutely fantastic. No redness or puffiness what-so-ever – our bloodshot eyes were the only giveaway!
Best Product for Busy Mums = Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm
Why? = This product is a multi-use miracle. Made with the simplest and gentlest of ingredients, it’s made as a moisturiser for very sensitive skins, but also doubles as a glossy lip balm, hair smoother (yes, it works – we’ve tried it!) and more importantly, a gentle and safe balm for baby’s skin. New mums can keep this little tube in their handbag and throw away their lip balm, hair serum and baby lotion! It’s a time-saver and a much safer and gentler alternative to commercial baby products, containing only shea butter, sunflower oil, beeswax, calendula and jojoba oil. Beautifully soothing and beautifully simple! = Just what frazzled mums need.
Has that given you some food for thought? We hope we’ve helped with our christmas picks list!

Product Review – Healing Anthropology Rejuvenating Vitamin C Solution
Hi gorgeous natural beauties!
Check out this great review of our Healing Anthropology Rejuvenating Vitamin C Solution, written by HealthyHolisticLiving.com!
First Impressions
The product label is quite appealing; it immediately gives you a sense that this is a high quality item. The Rejuvenating Solution has a mild odor, not too overwhelming. The ingredient list is clear and has nothing in it that I cannot pronounce, which is a great start. It also states that the product is free of toxins and chemicals, which is a big plus in my book. For some reason I have a good feeling about this product, let’s hope it’s not fleeting.
How I used it
Right out of the gate I was excited to try this product; according to the website the “Rejuvenating Vitamin C Solution delivers high potency antioxidants to skin cells. It is effective in reducing enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles and under-eye puffiness.”
Sure, like something could actually reduce the size of my enlarged pores; I hit 40 and suddenly I had pores the size of Kansas. Well, to my surprise and total disbelief, this product did just that, yup, it reduced the size of my enlarged pores. Did they disappear? No, but they appear a heck of a lot smaller.
This stuff is fantastic; nothing, and I mean nothing, shrinks up my pores and this stuff on the first try immediately changed the texture and look of my skin. It is almost a miracle. Decreased pore size alone can take off a couple of years. Gosh, I wonder how young I will look after a few months!
How does Mother Earth feel about his product?
Mother Earth is feeling pretty darn good about Healing Anthropology. Social and environmental responsibility is a guiding principle for Healing Anthropology, and it shows. Their products are made with solely natural and organic ingredients from responsible and sustainable sources. The products are 100% toxin-free, contain no chemical preservatives and they are not tested on animals. The packaging is recyclable and the labels are printed with a soy based ink.
Is it a Healthy Product?
Healing Anthropology skin care products contain only the purest ingredients and nothing synthetic whatsoever. The company is passionately committed to changing the status quo on skin care by making safe, effective and 100% natural products. Sounds like Healing Anthropology puts health first the way it should be.
Would I recommend this product to a friend?
You Bet… Of course, if supplies are limited I am not telling anyone!

Enlarged Pores – What you can do to shrink them, naturally.

Enlarged pores affect a great deal of people – and like most things, genetics are likely to be responsible. But don’t blame your folks just yet – enlarged pores can also sometimes be caused by sun damage, aging and poor hygiene. These three things all cause a thickening of the skin, resulting in the build-up of skin cells around the pores, which makes them appear larger.
In order to avoid enlarged pores to begin with, be sure to keep your face clean, and try to incorporate a toner into your routine. Toners act to ‘tone’, ‘tighten’ and ‘refine’ skin texture – combatting the enlargement of pores.
If you already suffer from enlarged pores (and you’re not alone), do not fret! There are some very effective natural ingredients and products you can use to improve your skin’s texture and appearance.
There are many natural ingredients that are effective in reducing pore-size, as well as having other benefits for the skin. These include witch hazel, vitamin A, tomato, salicylic acid, and lemon extract.
Witch hazel is a natural astringent, and is excellent at toning and refining the skin – the reason it’s an ingredient in so many toners. Witch hazel is also effective at combatting excess oil production – often a contributing factor of enlarged pores.
Vitamin A is commonly used in various forms as an acne treatment, and is very effective at this. However, it is also, if used in the right amounts, extremely good for improving skin tone and texture, and is an ingredient in a great deal of skin care products – from anti-aging creams to nutrient-rich serums.
Tomato is full of lycopenes, a type of antioxidant, and has natural toning properties. It’s also a rich source of Vitamins A and C.
Lemon is a very effective astringent and toning agent, and also has skin-brightening properties. Lemon extract can be found in a great deal of skin care products -particularly those designed for oily or acne-prone skin.
And lastly, Willowbark extract is the source of Salicylic acid, an organic beta hydroxy acid (BHA). BHAs are excellent at gently exfoliating the skin, and encouraging cell renewal. They exfoliate without using grainy or abrasive agents, so are an excellent way of exfoliating sensitive or acne-prone skin. Salicylic acid works to effectively renew and refine the skin, and to clear pores.
So, now that we’ve identified some natural ingredients that can be used to combat those enlarged pores of yours – let’s talk about where you can find them, and the best way to kick-start your journey to smaller, tighter, more refined pores.
1) Make sure your skin is kept clean as much as possible. Use a natural, gentle cleanser that will effectively cleanse without stripping your skin of its natural oils. We suggest our Healing Anthropology Rejuvenating Facial Cleanser, which contains witch hazel, aloe vera & vitamin C, or our Raw Gaia Living Facial Cleanser, which contains witch hazel, tea tree essential oil and lemon essential oil.
2) Gently exfoliate about twice a week to purify and deep-cleanse your pores, and get rid of any impurities. Our Mokosh Cleansing Powder can be used as a gentle exfoliator and also as a mask, and contains lemon peel powder and revitalizing wheatgrass powder, as well as green clay to deep-clean and detoxify.
3) Try to use a pore-refining serum or cream every day as part of your skin care routine. A beautiful one is our Healing Anthropology Rejuvenating Vitamin C solution, which contains toning witch hazel, antioxidant-rich green tea, alpha lipoic acid and balancing grapefruit seed extract. Not only is this nutraceutical-rich serum extremely effective at reducing enlarged pores, but it also helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and under-eye puffiness. It can be used twice a day under your regular moisturiser.
4) Another thing you may wish to consider is whether any of the products you are using on your skin are comedogenic. Comedogenic ingredients block pores; that is, they don’t allow the skin to ‘breathe’, and can cause clogging, and later on, enlarging, of the pores. Make sure you are using skin care (cleansers, toners and moisturisers) that do not contain any comedogenic ingredients – if you’re unsure, there are a great deal of websites around that list common comedogenic ingredients in skin care. If you’re in doubt, head to Eve Organics – our products are all 100% natural, and are sourced specifically for their effectiveness and purity of ingredients.
A great deal of make-up also contains comedogenic ingredients, such as mineral oils, and bismuth oxychloride, which is a nasty ingredient used to make face-powders more ‘silky’ – but various studies have found it to be toxic and harmful to the skin. Try and stay away from this one if you can.
We recommend choosing mineral make-up (not to be confused with mineral oils) – Look for mineral foundations and powders that contain only 100% natural ingredients. Be careful here – a lot of well-known make-up brands advertise ‘mineral’ make-up products, but if you look at the ingredients lists, they actually contain a long list of synthetic ingredients as well.
Always check your ingredients lists. A great deal of what we put on our skin is absorbed into the bloodstream – so treat your skin with kindness!
A great make-up brand we use and recommend is ‘Nude by Nature’ – unfortunately we don’t stock them on the Eve Organics site as we don’t currently sell make-up lines, but you can find the brand at leading retailers.
